PyGAMSOR Issue - Gamma Power Too High
It was observed that when running a GAMSOR sequence using PyGAMSOR, the resulting gamma power distribution was too large. Instead of 286 MW, the total power was 618 MW (well over the target in the input). The issue is believed to be with PyGAMSOR, because after this was discovered, the same ISOTXS and DIF3D/REBUS output files were used with GAMSRC (outside of PyARC) and it produced reasonable results (gamma power results were significantly lower and total power was near the target of 286 MW).
To reproduce:
- Run REBUS step (pyarc_input_1rebus.son) This creates a rebus output file for GAMSOR (pyarc_input_1rebus.out)
- Run GAMSOR step (pyarc_input_2gamsor.son) This creates (zipped) GAMSOR output files: GEODST, GHFLUX, GTFLUX, LABELS, NDXSRF, NHFLX0, PMATRX, RTFLUX, and ZNATDN. Note: email kramey@anl.gov for more details.
For sure the GHFLUX file was observed to not be quite right, since it was post-processed with another utility (VARPOW) and the results were unusually high. It is it not certain whether other GAMSOR output files are impacted.
