Decide whether to change the element number convention
In the Fortran code, the number of elements is read in from the file and then reduced by one (to effectively become the number of solutes). This convention/naming scheme is potentially misleading and possibly should be changed. As of right now, the C++ code doesn't include the reduction by one. However, for consistency with the Fortran code, that is being added as part of #12 (closed).
