pyUSID is the **science-agnostic** package that mainly contains the file handling tools upon which pycroscopy is built.
Pycroscopy contains scientific and data analysis functions, instrument-specific data translators, etc.
Pycroscopy depends on pyUSID just as the scipy family of packages depend on numpy.
