GIT Lab with Docker?
I am just starting to play with Docker. My first use case is to create a developer environment for a partially DB driven web site (perl cgi). In our current environment most development is done on a central development server. So everyone is sharing access to a common /var/www. Not ideal.
Now that we're using GIT a few of us have set up a local environment, but requires having local mysql, apache, etc. Several developers are pushing back on this approach.
So, I'd like to define a Docker image(s) with all those things so developers only need to install Docker and then can run everything with their local directory mapped to /var/www.
Related to this, I see that GITLab now has Docker repo capability: https://about.gitlab.com/2016/05/23/gitlab-container-registry/
I'm getting myself all twisted around.
Has anyone already done this and would be willing to share experiences?
So this is sort of GIT, sort of Docker and sort of GitLab related.
