Using CNMS Resources from outside the ORNL Network
Cyber-Security requirements at ORNL require you to be coming from an inside IP address for most systems.
You ORNL email is connected to your 3 character UCAMS id. If you have a UCAMS id you have an ORNL email, this can only be checked from inside the ORNL network. If you want to use ORNL resources checking this email is part of the price.
Use CITRIX to check your ORNL email.
Once you are on citrix you can access internal help resources by coming back to this page in a browser within citrix.
Citrix ORNL IT help pages
You cannot automatically forward mail from your ORNL email but you can send yourself notifications
Now that you are on the network you can (if you are a CNMS User) request access to Cades CONDO
- You will also need to request Login Server access for your UCAMS id (uid). I do not think this server is reachable from off the network. UCAMS server
- go to the main menu
- click Access Management
- Request resource by owner
- select ORNL Login Server
To get to Cades from off the ornl network you will need to do the following once the login server ssh user is granted.
your-machine$ ssh firstname.lastname@example.org login1.ornl.gov$ ssh or-condo-login
As well as read the documentation for the (CNMS Computing resources)[https://code.ornl.gov/CNMS/CNMS_Computing_Resources/wikis/Cades]
